About Brickshire

Lego users group

Our purpose is to provide a group for like-minded Adult Fans of LEGO (AFOLs) to
network, meet and display their LEGO creations within the county of Yorkshire.

Our aims as a LUG are:

The History

Brickshire is the first regional LEGO User Group in the UK and was officially formed on the 22nd February 2013 when 11 of the 13 founding
members met and voted unanimously in favour of theconstitution.

All of the founding members were AFOLs that visited the Sheffield LEGO Brand Store on a regular basis, and had met a number of times informally.
Discussions began about creating a LUG at a regional level, as other LUGs had events spread all across the country, making it difficult to
attend and display.

Our first public display is at the Northern Modelling and Engineering Exhibition in Harrogate on 10th May 2013.

LUG Management

One of the key things that our members wanted when the LUG was founded was to have a say in how their club was run, and as such, it was
decided that the Membership would be responsible for all decisions made, and not a committee. To aid with the day to day administration of the
LUG, the members have elected a Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer, who carry out official duties on behalf of the members.

Relationship with The LEGO Group

As a LUG, it important that we establish and keep a good relationship with The LEGO Group, and as such, we have a nominated LEGO Ambassador
to act as our official liaison with them.
